Shirobayashi: Lines
Jan. 15– Feb 19, 2005
Opening
Reception: Saturday, January 15th from 6-8pm
Artist’s talk at 6:30pm
The
Lines series represents new work based on minimalist landscapes
of North America by Japanese artist Kiriko Shirobayashi. From serene
mountain ranges to barren wastelands, each landscape glows with
subtle color and minimal information with hardly a trace of human
or animal presence. According to Shirobayashi, the horizon line
motif represents a universal connection between the varied terrain
that she explored while traveling across the U.S.
